When we hit on a new discovery, that a-ha! moment can feel a bit like magic, like the universe has suddenly aligned. 

But behind the scenes, discovery is usually a combination of inspiration, ingenuity and plain old hard work. Sometimes it’s a scientific breakthrough. Sometimes it’s a new solution to a community challenge, a better way to protect endangered wildlife or a fresh performance insight that helps an athlete improve. 

This month, we’ll explore a new effort to accelerate scientific discovery by putting AI at the center. We’ll meet young innovators in Mexico who are using AI to create solutions in their communities, learn how technology is helping protect one of the world’s most endangered whale populations and get to know a coach who’s using data to help basketball players – from pickup to pro – refine every shot.
